The children got sick with stomach viruses. Then I caught it.
The children got sick with some sort of respiratory virus. Then I caught it. I missed two weeks of Aikido and church. Blar.
The window to the van broke. Well, the mechanism that makes it go up and down broke, really. That was a 300 dollar job done (today).
Our green car had to have 100 dollars worth of work done on it.
The air conditioner blew a fuse. That was another 88 bucks.
The compressor to our septic tank died. That was a 400 dollar fix.
The green car still needs another 400-500 dollars worth of work done on it.
The grey car wouldn't start at ALL.
Kurt missed work today thanks to car troubles.
Both of us now have sore throats, and I've still got a cough.
Because both of us had to drive and we had no one to take the children, the kids got to tag along with us and be bored while we ran around trying to get car stuff and other chores done. Poor kids. It really threw them off.
Good: My mother in law was able to visit this weekend. She flew in after work on Thursday.
My MIL took the children while Kurt and I went to the Texas state fair (we got free admission, whoo!) and afterwards, we went to see the Lion King Broadway Show. It was fantastic! We bought the tickets just after getting our tax refund. It was our official anniversary celebration.
Kurt had a birthday yesterday. He turned the big 3 0!
While the green car still needs work done on it, it's not something that will leave us stranded. We are, unfortunately, polluting the air more than usual, but we can save up the money to get it fixed without worrying about the car breaking down on us.
I finished Matthew's quilt top. now to baste, quilt, and bind.
I have a wonderful, loving husband who puts up with more than he should.
I have some REALLY awesome friends.
